How to Heal Yourself With Inner Alignment

Do you think you have the power within you to heal yourself?

Whatever healing ability you think you have is only the tip of the iceberg.

How can I say that with such confidence? Because the mind, no matter how expanded, is still not big enough to hold the infinite power that moves through the body as life force. And that life force can heal you. It wants to heal you. And for life force, healing is effortless.

So, whether you believe in your ability to heal from within or you doubt it, life force does not care. It is there, ready to fix what is broken, to balance what is off balance, to correct what is distorted, and to ease what is tangled. It is ready to heal you.

What is Healing?

Since many people mean many different things when they use the word healing, I'd like to define it very clearly for our purposes. When I speak of healing, I am talking about a journey that leads to joy. It is a journey to wholeness that is fast and sure because it travels the road of "now." It stays responsive to the uniqueness of the moment and it rides the waves of life with skill, dignity, and agility. The destination? Joyful harmonious expressiveness.

In fact, I have become so fond of the phrase "joyful harmonious expressiveness" as a statement for the destination of the healing journey, that I have created the word j-h-e or jhe as a replacement for the word health.

Why Alignment?

In order for jhe to be your experience, life force must have a clear pathway to flow through your system. The most natural and expedient way to allow life force to flow for the purpose of jhe is to bring yourself into alignment.

You are built in such a way that there are avenues of flow for this energy. These avenues exist on the physical level as well as on the energetic level.

To bring your physical structure into alignment for the purpose of healing, we have the chiropractic adjustment.

To bring your energy body into alignment for the purpose of jhe, we have inner alignment exercises and jhe sessions.

Here is an inner alignment exercise you can begin doing right now. This will set the stage for more advanced inner alignment practices you may explore in the future. Exercise:

1 - sit upright on your chair or meditation cushion.

2 - with closed eyes, feel a beam of light running vertically though the center of your body. Imagine that this beam of light also runs through the center of the earth. Adjust your posture so that you are effortlessly aligned with this silent beam of light.

3 - now feel the horizontal surface you are sitting on. Feel the perfect perpendicular set up by the beam of light and the horizontal surface. Bring yourself into resonance with the stability of that perpendicular energy structure. Feel yourself relax into a greater upright posture with less and less effort s a result of your heightened alignment.

4 - Know that every small increment of alignment contributes exponentially to the ease with which life force flows through you. Know that every slight increase in the flow of life force exponentially expands your jhe.

5 - Offer gratitude for how easy it is to come into alignment and for how abundant is the flow of life force.

This is a simple exercise that can provide you with tremendous movement if done regularly.

Never underestimate the power of your own ability to heal from within. Remember, however you understand your ability to heal, it is only the tip of the iceberg.

Get Rid of Hot Flushes the Natural Way

What causes a hot flush?

One of the most common symptoms of the menopause, hot flushes are not caused by a lack of oestrogen, but by a sudden drop in oestrogen level. This is why flushes usually stop once the level of oestrogen stabilises.

This can not only become a problem during the day, especially if you are working, but can cause sleep problems at night with constant waking up because of flushes of heat.

Where do you get the flushes?

Women can have hot flushes on the neck and face, upper arms, torso or the entire body. hot flushes may last a few seconds or a few minutes and they can be strong or mild.

Increased blood flow to the area raises the skin temperature and this creates a flush - red, blotchy skin. Sweating is the body's way of trying to cool down.

Here are some very useful tips:

What you wear
Wear layers so you can manage your temperature.
Wear natural fabrics that breathe.
Carry spare layers with you.
Carry a packet of moist tissues to freshen up after a flush.

relaxation

Stress is known to be a potent trigger for a hot flush, so find ways to relax as much as possible.

Try to relax when youre actually having a flush this will help. Take deep breaths and feel your face and shoulders relax.

Yoga, meditation, reiki, tai chi whatever helps you to relax.

Listening to relaxation music can have a profound affect, especially if it has been written especially for this purpose, see end of the article for website details.

Menopausal stress can be improved dramatically by balancing blood sugar levels, allowing the body to circulate the hormones more efficiently. Refined foods such as chocolates and biscuits quickly release their sugar into the blood, so avoid eating too many (this is repeated in the foods to avoid section).

Exercise

Exercise is good. While short bursts of exercise can trigger a hot flush, regular exercise will help to reduce the overall number of attacks.

Walking, swimming, taking exercise classes whichever is your choice, no matter how tired you are feeling, a bit of exercise will most certainly help.

Drink small quantities of water whenever you feel a flush coming on.

Stress also is known to be a potent trigger, so find ways to relax as much as possible.

Foods to reduce hot flushes

The two main dietary sources of help with symptoms such as hot flushes are soya foods and linseeds (also called flaxseeds). The optimum intake to reduce hot flushes and other menopausal symptoms, is around a 100gram serving of tofu, soya yoghurt or a large glass of soya milk at least five times a week. A tablespoon of ground linseeds sprinkled onto cereal or into yoghurt daily can be effective after about six weeks.

Make sure you also eat wholegrains such as rye bread or crackers, porridge oats and wholemeal bread.

Oily fish such as mackerel, sardines, tuna and salmon are also beneficial.

Fibre is another important element. It is present in fresh fruit and vegetables.

Foods to avoid

Red meat dramatically reduces the amount of oestrogen produced, causing hot flushes and can increase the risk of osteoporosis by causing calcium loss.

Refined foods such as chocolates and biscuits quickly release sugar into the blood, so best to avoid too many! Menopausal stress can be improved dramatically by balancing blood sugar levels, allowing the body to circulate the hormones more efficiently.

Moderation

Remember though that there is nothing wrong with having a relaxing meal with a friend that involves wine, coffee or spicy foods. The key is moderation.

Eating little and often

Its important to eat little and often as blood sugar levels can drop if there are long waits between meals, causing hot flushes.

Carrying nuts, seeds or dried fruits can help make sure you dont get caught hungry.

The importance of water

I would recommend reading Your Bodys Many Cries for Water by Dr. F. Batmanghelidj. He explains how dehydration is so common nowadays and how drinking more water can help in so many ways.

Drinking two litres of water a day is definitely beneficial to your general health. during the menopause, with constant fluid loss from hot flushes and night sweats, it is very important to make sure you are replenishing your system.

I would recommend starting to drink a small amount of water as soon as you feel a hot flush starting, this will help reduce the flush.

Remember also that tea and coffee are diuretics and flush nutrients out of the body, so if you do drink these beverages then remember to always replenish your system with more water.

Vitamins Vitamin C will help with hot flushes and also helps to build up collagen, which is what gives your skin elasticity.

Vitamin E has been studied for many years for its ability to help reduce hot flushes. It is also beneficial for vaginal dryness and is a protective antioxidant that keeps skin healthy and supple.

The B Vitamins are renowned for their ability to relieve stress and support the adrenals. B vitamins also help to alleviate symptoms of anxiety, low energy levels and poor concentration that are often associated with the menopause.

Herbs

European, Asian and Native American herbal traditions have a long history of easing menopausal symptoms. Take 5-10 drops in water twice a day.

Sage is a good herbal remedy for easing night sweats and hot flushes.

Don Quai has proved to be most effective for relieving symptoms of the menopause, in particular hot flushes as well as vaginal dryness.

Black Cohosh is a popular Native American herb that is very effective for restoring hormone balance. Agnus Castus is a great hormone balancer. It works best taken first thing in the morning, every morning. It stimulates the pituitary gland which is in charge of producing and setting hormone levels.

Homeopathic remedies

Hormonal imbalances respond very well to homeopathic treatment.

A remedy or remedies will be chosen by your homeopath from a variety of natural sources. Pulsatilla, Sepia, Sulpher or Lachesis are a few of the many effective remedies.

The choice of remedy is highly individual and requires expert help, so it's not advisable to try and choose your own remedies in a shop, for your menopausal problems. I have experienced quite a few women trying out various remedies from the chemist and ending up getting very confused.

When I was first in touch with Daphne I was a mess. I felt continually tired, had lank greasy hair and my energy was at rock bottom. My GP had prescribed HRT but it didnt agree with me at all. Within a few months of seeing Daphne my life had turned around. A big plus for me was that I had suffered from urinary incontinence for years and her homeopathic medicine completely stopped that, as well as fixing my menopausal symptoms. B.W.

"I came to see Daphne after starting my menopause. At the time I was having a lot of problems and the advice and remedies that I was given helped me enormously. It was a great relief to have someone with whom I could talk things over". J.R.

"I had tried everything, from HRT to various herbs and potions from my local health shop and nothing helped. I found Daphne's website and e-mailed her my menopausal symptoms. Weight Loss For Food Lovers!

So you love food? The thought of losing weight by eating less probably traumatises you! But take heart. Use these hints to make it all less painful.

We all know we need to have a well balanced diet. But this doesn't mean your diet has to be boring, just well planned. Sit down with your low fat recipe books and plan your week's meals before you go grocery shopping. Do not shop while you're hungry as you'll buy more. Only buy what's on the list. See how good it feels to have your shopping trolley full of mostly fruit and vegetables!

Change your attitude to eating by using smaller plates. You can still eat adequate proportions of the right food, but you will feel like you're eating more. Don't laugh, try this: it really works! Another little trick is to eat your nightly meal several hours before going to bed, then brush your teeth immediately. This seems to deter those late night cravings!

It's easy to remember this formula of your daily food requirements: 5 serves of vegetables and 2 serves of fruit. I find that starting the day with some fruit on my cereal takes care of one of the fruit serves and then I only have to munch on an apple some time during the day to fulfil that requirement. Eating a carrot for morning tea works for me because it takes a long time to chew (and therefore feels like I'm eating more!) plus it takes care of my first vegetable serve.

Eat slowly and savour every mouthful. Think about the texture and flavour of the food as you chew. Enjoy the eating experience more. Drink water with your meals as a habit as it will help fill you up. Chop up your favourite fruit and leave it in a container in the fridge. It's amazing how we're all more inclined to eat fruit when it's already bite sized. It's amazing at a kid's party when you bring out plates of chopped up fruit how the kids won't generally complain and will polish off every last morsel!

Have you noticed how most of our social events with family and friends are built around eating? Why not be the one to change all this by suggesting a walk together instead of a dinner party, a ball game in the park instead of an All-You-Can-Eat restaurant, a card game instead of a coffee shop? The company will still be great, and you won't feel tempted to mindlessly eat lots of food.

When heading out to social or sporting events, be kind to your body and your budget by packing healthy foods before you go. Most venues stock fast foods which are high in fat. In addition, you often waste previous time as a family by queuing up. If you worry that your kids will be missing out, you could buy them a treat after they've filled up on sandwiches and fruit. By then the smell of hot fries and chips will not seem as irresistable!

The truth is that none of us manage to eat everything we should on every single day of our lives. In our busy modern lives there's bound to be days the 5 vegetables 2 fruit rule is not observed. That's where health supplements come in. You'll experience great peace of mind as you and your family consume your daily requirements of vitamins and minerals in the form of a shake or capsules. It's a safeguard so that you know your body is getting what it needs. It's even more useful after exercise as whey protein shakes help repair and tone muscle. Many people also have a protein shake prior to bed to ensure that their metabolism doesn't slow down. Literally helping to lose weight while they snooze!

It's not as hard as you think to lose weight by eating well. It's not about fad diets, because these never result in sustained weight loss, and it's not about starving yourself, because you'll feel like you're missing out on pleasure. It's about organisation and retraining yourself by employing a few tricks which are tried and true.

Author Colin Johnson highly recommends whey protein shakes for overall health and as a hunger suppressant. Some of these shakes, such as Sleek and Slender, are specifically designed for the female body in mind. More information can be found at http://www.protein4health.com Colin has been a health educator, drug educator, elite sports coach and father of five all in one lifetime! He lives with his wife and family on the shores of beautiful Lake Macquarie, Newcastle.

How To Correct My Golf Slice - Simple Fixes For Every Golfer

The golf slice is one of the average golfer's most common game play mistakes. In golf, there is probably nothing more frustrating as practicing your perfect golf swing and finding out that your ball is sliced more times than you hit straight. If you are one of these golfers who suffer from the annoying golf slice, we reckon you probably want it to be corrected as soon as you can. You may probably be asking 'How do I correct my golf slice'?

To help you how to correct your golf slice, it is important to know that are the possible causes of it. In set up, there are a number of possible causes. this include bad grip or when the club is held so tight that tension is formed at the arms of the player, causing him to perform an outside to in swing. To correct a bad grip, try to loosen up your grip. Imagine you are grasping a little bird instead of a club make your grip tight enough to keep the bird from escaping, but loose enough not to constrict it to death. However, having a week grip will cause you to have a clubface that is open. Solve this by turning both of your hands clockwise at the club.

Bad alignment is another cause of slice. The best thing to do is to align the shoulders and feet in such a way that they will be parallel to the imaginary line from the ball to the target. A faulty ball position is also a cause of golf slice. this can be remedied by not placing the ball quite far as this can make the shoulder to open and create a swing path that is outside-to-in. You can also move back the golf ball into your stance though still a little but forward from center. this is to make sure that the club is parallel to the line from the ball to the target. The clubface angle is another factor you should look into. Make sure that the clubface is lined up squarely with the line from the ball to the target.

Problems with the swing also cause golf slice. These problems include poor transfer of weight. You should transfer your weight to the front from the back foot. A good way to eliminate slice is by using the renowned 'down the fairway' drill by Gary Player: hit your drive and take a forward step on follow through. Another drill you can use is the so-called stepping drill which is basically exaggerating your weight transfer by raising your front leg when on the subsequent backswing and transferring your weight to your back foot.
